A / T Wessex Region – notification of AGM 9th July 2021 (Elm Tree Pub, Poulner, Ringwood 7pm for 7.30pm start).
With Covid restrictions now easing it’s time to get back to business once again as regards the progress of fishing related activities in our area. As we have been unable to conduct a proper AGM since the lockdown some 12 months or more ago, it is now time to re-launch the Wessex Division and elect a committee to take us forward to address local issues which both include Club and environmental matters whilst arranging events to encourage local angling for all to join our sport. The current acting Committee has been somewhat depleted during the past couple of years and although the nucleus of the Committee are keen to continue their support we welcome the influx of new voices to help us move forward. If you are willing to help (6 meetings per year) please confirm your interest to Acting Secretary Brian Bleese (‘e’ BBleese@dorsetwildlifetrust.org.uk). Further details of the AGM plus proposals for the updating of the Rules of the Division can be found on the Wessex Website www.anglingtrustwessex.co.uk
Ray Ashby
President
Proposed Rule Changes
Rule 3.1d To change the existing rule to allow ‘a quorum of at least 8 voting members’ to be present at an AGM instead of the current 18 voting members.
Rule 4 To change the quorum needed for a General Meeting from 6 to 4 and must include either the President, Chairman or Vice Chairman.
Both changes have been proposed by the existing acting Committee to assist with the conducting of Meetings given the reduction in numbers of Clubs within the region and the resultant reduced attendance at meetings.
We look forward to seeing you at the AGM on 9th July.
